Writing and Arting

Meet the Shari that few people see, the one that curls up on the couch and weaves stories. I used to publish romances under made up names.  I am now focused on flash (stories with 1,000 words or less) and creative non-fiction, and it feels like coming home. I am also co-founder of the Art as Conversation Blog, where we talk about art as a conduit for learning about art, ourselves and the wider world.

Flash

Animal, Vegetable or Mineral, a romance published in Microromance

The Forever Family, sci-fi story published in Nature

Getting to Yes, published in Eat Darling Eat

Holiday Decorations, published in Every Day Fiction

Creative Non-Fiction

“Raising a Mom in a Dozen Observations,” in the Milk of Female Kindness: an Anthology of Honest Motherhood, 2013 (writing as Sabrina Garie)

Arting: Art As Conversation

Arting – Arting is working together to choose art pieces, looking at them side by side in what we call a mash-up, then talking about them.  Through those conversations, we entered into new understandings of the art, ourselves and the worlds we share. Arting is captured in the Art As Conversation Blog Sample posts are below.
